Who are the Wizards?

United Kingdom
The legends of lash! Wizards for life! Barry McEvoy - originated from Ireland back in the 1980's. He is best known nowadays not for his potatoe picking but for the consumption of ungodly foods such as..'burgers, crisps, choclate and of course sweets'! Lets just say that Baz stands out in a crowd. Jonathan Hubbleday - himself also born in the 1980's however many believe some time long before that judging on the thick carpet of stubble than engrosses his face! John is also best known for his ability to get rid of many party bags worth of Haribo everyday which is evident from his somewhat odd physique! He also has a problem of doing stuff for himself! James Deytrikh -You will see his nose enter the room before he does. A fine model of a man supported by what can only be described as a pair of 'ladies legs', yes they are small but decpetively powerfull! Mike Lowe - the most recent addition to the Wizards and his behaviour is defiently at Wizard standards! His cartoon face and quick wit (somewhat odd wit really),will provide us all with much entertainment. His passions are football and aircraft but since travelling he has definetly been practising other passions!!!

Cairns to Mission Beach via the Croc Farm!

After spending just over a week in Cairns, we came to the mutual decision it was time to move on. We originally thought we would be able to pick up jobs in the capital of North Queensland, but it wasn’t to be. The work was mainly seasonal and being in the wet season (thanks for telling us STA travel) we were stone out of luck. No great loss though as none of us really thought much of Cairns as a city. We had an amazing time because it was the first stop and we were all together, but the time had come….

So 0630 we got up after yet another well lubricated night and headed around the corner to the pick up point for the Oz Experience bus ride south. We were greeted by a few familiar faces all in the same boat heading south on the oz tour. We set off and it soon became clear there was no chance of catching up on missed sleep. The party bus as the Oz experience is known for was in full flow. Ice breaking was first up, front of the bus for all of us to talk about all things embarrassing and funny in our lives, we all stood up well but Deych brought the house down.

The great thing about the Oz Ex bus is that it hits the back roads and takes you to places of interest along the way. First stop was the Water hole near Innisfail, we all had chance to take a dip and relax before the rest of the journey……..its hard to imagine the distances in OZ.

So there we were back on the bus, it was all getting to easy, the sunnys were on and the wizards were in full flow, operation dominate the bus was complete, things were to get a little more frantic at the next stop.

Crocodile Farm, not so much a problem we thought as everything would be penned in and out of harms way. We hadn’t been there 2 minutes when yet another Steve Irwin wannabe came bounding out with lizards galore rapped around him. Before Hubbs had chance to tell him he pretty much hated snakes, he had put a constrictor around his neck. Baz and Deych spent there time trying to ‘tickle’ the snake so it tightened up on Hubbsy. The shades stayed on so as to hide the fear.
We were then treated to an attack show from the big crocs, the biggest being over 5 metres, one of the largest in captivity apparently. There was also the chance to get some arhhhh photos, Baz stole the show with this one. Good one for the nans.

Back on the bus and we were soon in Mission Beach. We stayed at a really chilled place called Scottys. The weather was still mixed, with really heavy showers of rain one minute and blistering sun the next.

We made the most of the chill time and knocked around the pool for most of the day before cooking up a serious BBQ in the evening followed by a few beers and a game of cards. Next stop Tully. We were warned.
